Playing Hooky at the Columbus Zoo

We decided to take advantage of one of the last "warm" days of the year and headed to the Columbus Zoo on Monday. We walked our child plum out of energy (I think that was a first) and Dave ended up carrying him from Australia to the parking lot but I don't think Daddy minded too much.
Anyway, here are some pictures from that day.

The nice thing about going during the week is that there was hardly anyone else there! We had the tiger to ourselves for 10 minutes or so. It was stripping the leaves off of a stick it had found. I thought for a minute it was part Airedale since that seems to be a habit of theirs as well.
This tiger was eyeing Mitchell from the moment he came into the enclosure. I'm guessing he thought Mitchell looked tasty if you know what I mean!
Of course this was one of the more cuddly animals we came across.

This is a three-year-old in their natural habitat. I'm glad he was caged. They can be SCARY!
